This is my husband's first time to Flipps. It did not disappoint. They have a fun atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, a great beer selections and delicious food! The Sourpuss is everything you think it will be: sauerkraut, salt and vinegar chips atop a delicious German sausage! (I liked but did not love the potato salad-I might get the chips next time) The Philthy Whizzard is a Philly Cheesesteak on a hotdog and my husband raved about the Mac and cheese.

We will be coming back for this fun spot in downtown Lubbock!

Okay, a list must be made to portray all the things I love about this place!

    1. It reminds me of home (Chicago)
    2. Great service
    3. DOG FRIENDLY PATIO! (They even bring fresh water for your baby!)
    4. Delicious dogs (not the animal, the food ha)
    5. Great beer selection
    6. Cool atmosphere
    7. Big-group friendly

    Totally becoming a regular here!

Flippers Tavern is a cool and laid back bar with an arcade theme. They specialize in different hot dogs with special menu choices and a build-it-yourself option with many different kinds of dogs, sauces, and toppings to choose from. They have a good draft beer list and a daily special. My favorite part, however, was their outdoor seating area that was enclosed and had ceiling fans. The staff are very nice and especially kind to four-legged friends. We brought our dog and the server brought her fresh water and dog treats!

    Pro-tip: ORDER THE PRETZELS

Not being familiar with Lubbock, we used the internet to find a unique place to eat lunch. When we arrived at Flippers Tavern my husband became leary that we would have a decent lunch when he saw only hot dogs on the menu. The bartender/waiter kindly explained the various options to my doubting husband. I was up for the adventure and convinced my husband to do the same. He ordered two different sausage dogs and I ordered one. All three were fresh, large, and flavorful...By far the best either of us had ever had. Anytime we are in or near Lubbock in the future, Flippers Tavern will definitely be the place we will eat.

Fiiiiiinally, a pinball kind of place in Lubbock.  You'll be lucky to find parking in front of the bar so good luck.

You can kind of treat this like a miniature Museum because if you walked around you is tea part of pinball machines around these walls, some are made into tables and of course there are the actual pinball machines in the back.

No one has said anything so I'm glad I came here and was able to tell you folks but the premium pinball machine prices are $0.75 a play which is totally worth it. There is one pinball machine up in front of that little room the back which is on Freeplay, it is an old pinball machine but works very well. How can you complain about free play?

The waitress or server that I had was very friendly and explaining the drinks and good detail. On a Friday night the pacifico's are $3 which is the equivalent of a Corona, the $3 Ritchie Valens drink which I forgot what it was about, some kind of concoction with vodka and also the Daquiris are $4.

The average crowd is in their twenties so I must have been the oldest person here but that's okay nobody seemed to turn around and judge me will make a smirk.

Put this on your bucket list of bars to try in Lubbock, it really is a treat from your different bars that are around here.

A hard star for the service that I received and an extra star because they have pinball machines.
